À Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, le 10 mars 2016, à l’âge de 91 ans, est décédée Mr. Charles James Christie, époux de Mme Doreen Taylor, résidant à Salaberry-de-Valleyfield.  Outre son épouse, il laisse dans le deuil ses enfants James (Janice), Elizabeth (Joseph), ses petits-enfants Andrew, Charles, Nicholas, Charlie, ainsi que parents et amis. Un résident de longue date de Valleyfield, Charlie a fréquenté l’Institut Gault et occupé des postes de direction dans l’église anglicane St. Mark où il a été baptisé. Après avoir servi dans la RAF pendant la guerre, il a été formé en tant que machiniste, devenant maître-mécanicien et chef de la maintenance pour Allied Chemical. Charlie a été Franc-Maçon plus de 50 ans, il a été Maître de sa Loge et 32e degré du Scottish Rite Mason. Un amoureux de la maison et bricoleur habile, il s’est consacré à sa famille et à ses nombreux chiens. Il nous manquera beaucoup, mais nous sommes réconfortés qu’il soit libéré. Le service et l’inhumation auront lieu à une date ultérieure. (450) 373-3636 www.jalarin.com                                                                                                                                                                                                      In Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, March 10, 2016, at the age of 91, Mr. Charles James Christie passed away, husband of Mrs Doreen Taylor who resided in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield. Besides his wife, he is survived by his children James (Janice) and Elizabeth (Joseph), his grandchildren Andrew, Charles, Nicholas and Charlie, relatives and friends. A lifelong resident of Valleyfield, Charlie attended Gault Institute and served in leadership posts in St. Mark’s Anglican Church in which he was baptized. After service in the wartime RCAF, he trained as a machinist, becoming Master Mechanic and Chief of Maintenance for Allied Chemical. Charlie was a Freemason for more than 50 years, a Past Master of his Lodge and a 32 degree Scottish Rite Mason. A home lover and skilled handyman, he was devoted to his family and his many dogs. He is much missed, but released with gratitude. A memorial service and the burial will be held at a later date. Donations to Kidney Foundation of Canada, 2300 boul.
